Who we are

I am not sure who We are. We are a group of people that exist on the internet and write stuff here. Whatever you want to call it. Thats who we are.

Who we are? Who are we? If that is your position consider this? Think of everything that ever made you laugh, cry, or say: “holy siht, that guy is drunk” and roll it into your ball twice smaller than it’s perceived volume.

Hold it in your squeezed fist for 18,000 years (account for all major ice ages, pole shifts, alien enslavement, moon phenomena, and disco records).

Now slowly undo the compression layer by layer. ‘Onion-it’ like it was a Russian stripper who always keeps the tricks coming back (no pun). There, you will find a semblance of what may appear to be nothing. Alas, perception is everything. “Wait, he said so meaning opinion is nothing”? …Said the coolly ironic mouse. “No need to insinuate the obvious or break the precious rules of writing I have spent tens of thousands of borrowed dollars on”, countered the always astute Mr. Bunny.

The point is: nobody can dictate or set up a template on what you should think we aren’t or are. But I can show you what we are capable of. There are some extraordinary writers here who hopefully match the wisdom and grace of our readers. Together, my friends, we can teach the world to sing.

Who we are? Besides amazing? I know who I am at least…music lover, concert goer, and supporter of all things local. I’ve got MPLS pride up to my ears and I also probably party a bit too hard. But I am so damn good at it…

The COME AND TAKE IT BLOG is a collective of music writers from Minneapolis, Minnesota to Austin, Texas who talk about the independent music scene as seen by the artists with interactive perspectives and behind the scenes access to the best in hip hop, rock, punk, jazz or reggae. A network of counter culture and community based artists all pooling their skills together to make a social network that doesn’t compromise your intellectual property but strengthens the independent music scene in a time when it needs it the most.

Anything that brings niche subjects and interests together from across the country, and even world, is worth appreciating as it gives anyone a up close viewpoint as to what’s new and beautiful in the music scene. Staff writers from across the country all contributing their angle on the similarities going on in the fast changing world of underground music. It’s our passion and love of music that gives us such a passionate appreciation for the sound that defines everything we do.
